ArtistsPalooza was set up to provide the creative support and resources to help artists develop their careers. It also aims to provide a platform for people of all abilities to create and publish their creative message to the world while at the same time, contributing in a positive way to the community. |

The Butcher's Guild connects and supports butchers. Butchers are in a unique position to establish sustainable food systems by buying from local farms and educating their customers, one steak at a time. We need to cook together, teach and support each other and rebuild what we have lost. |

Dave McLean is the brewmaster and owner of Magnolia Pub & Brewery and Alembic Bar, both on Haight Street in the heart of San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury district. Magnolia is a small-batch, artisan brewery and pub: the beers are handcrafted using carefully sourced ingredients. Alembic is one of the country’s premier cocktail bars, helping to restore the craft and art of cocktail creation. Dave has worked with Slow Food San Francisco in presenting two artisan beer and food festivals and continues to work to integrate more Slow Food values into his establishments. |

We focus primarily on women from communities of color and immigrant communities. Our vision is that entrepreneurs will become economically self-sufficient and contribute to a vibrant economy doing what they love to do. |

The largest independent literary festival on the West Coast, Litquake continues its mission as a nine-day literary spectacle October 7 – 15, 2011 complete with cutting-edge panel discussions, unique cross-media events, and hundreds of readings throughout the Bay Area. Litquake seeks to foster interest in literature for people of all ages, perpetuate a sense of literary community, and provide a vibrant forum for Bay Area writing as a complement to the city’s music, film, and cultural festivals. |

She and her partner, Tony Yanow, are keeping the details of her project under rap for now, but from what she's done for San Francisco beer community and Oskar Blues Brewery out of Colorado, we are excited to have her lead us into the emerging LA beer market of the region's top craft brews! |

SJLI's academic, food and environmental justice initiatives work to innovatively address issues in urban communities. By providing on-campus literacy programs and college preparatory education for urban students, along with operating organic urban community gardens and orchards, SJLI helps to enhance the lives of city residents. |
